As Advertised
I have depression and anxiety and was also recently diagnosed with autism at age 35. I've had an 18-lb weighted blanket for years and it's great, but obviously limited. I often tried to use it essentially as a Snuggie, so going for a weighted hoodie made sense. There aren't many options for hoodies that are actually weighted, but you don't really need to look any further than this, anyhow.
The weight is really, really nice and definitely chills me out. I appreciate that it doesn't have any obvious branding or anything else identifying it as a specialty product. I've been wearing it to work and no one has noticed. It IS a 10-lb hoodie, so keep that in mind if you intend to wear it out and about like I have been doing. It IS a bit of a work-out. Walking around in it and using your arms kind of feels like the first couple minutes getting out of a swimming pool. You'll especially feel it across your shoulders. I expect my traps and calves to benefit modestly in the background.
Quality is good. I particularly appreciate the chunky, high-quality zipper. Washing it was kind of a pain. I don't typically have patience for anything that can't go through the dryer. It didn't want to dry laid flat, it was too thick. I finally draped it over a chair in my back yard to dry in the sun and flipped it over after about an hour. I also haven't elected to hang it up and am not sure how it would do on a hanger - both for the integrity of the hanger and the chance that the hoodie might…
